About The Position

Tallahassee State College (TSC), recently recognized as one of the Most Promising Places to Work in Community Colleges for 2025, is excited to announce a part-time opening for the position of Athletics Academic Advisor and Success Coach with the Athletics. We’re looking for someone who shares our commitment to fostering a vibrant campus community. The part-time Athletics Academic Advisor and Success Coach assists student athletes with eligibility, academic advising, registration and will liaison with Career and Academic Advising team as appropriate. Provides guidance to/for important/relevant campus resources including career services, student accessibility services, academic support services and transfer requirements or opportunities. Abides by and complies with National Junior College Athletic Association, rules, academic standards, requirements, and policies of Tallahassee State College, and all guidelines and policies of the TSC Athletics department and reports any concerns of compromise or violation of rules, standards, guidelines or policies to the Director of Athletics. Provide holistic and comprehensive advising services for assigned student athlete caseload. Ensure student athletes are advised individually and/or in groups regarding academic requirements, course selection and registration, academic policies and procedures and career goals. Provides guidance to/for important/relevant campus resources including career services, student accessibility services, academic support services and transfer requirements or opportunities. Maintain advising records/notes in Workday. Audit Academic Progress of student athlete cohort to ensure all credits are applicable to program of student and appropriate college catalog. Work Schedule : Up to 25 hours per week; Monday – Friday on TSC Main Campus

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
• One year of experience in higher education, advising or counseling, secondary school student services or related field.
• Ability to work independently.
• Working knowledge of Windows operating system, MS Office, and related desktop applications; excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to perform time-sensitive and complex tasks; skill in using a computer, keyboard, and mouse for extended periods of time.
