About The Position

UBMD Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine is the largest Orthopaedic Group in Western New York. UBMDOSM is currently hiring Full time Athletic Trainers (ATC) This is an exciting career opportunity where newly graduated and experienced ATC's are encouraged to apply. Our ATEAM Athletic Training Education And Medical Program – is designed to protect athletes, provide knowledge and insights to play safely and prevent injuries. Trainers are also there to aid in recovery, helping athletes of all ages return to the game faster and as confident as they were before. Athletic trainers part of the ATEAM program are specially trained to work with athletes as part of their recovery from an injury or surgery. They participate in annual continuing education programs, keeping them sharp on the sidelines. They work one-on-one with athletes to help them redevelop or restore motion and control and recover any lost movement on function that may have happened during the healing process. This rehabilitation work is key to ensuring that athletes can recover completely and quickly so they can get back in action. Job Description Provide “Athletic Training Services” to student athletes under the direction of the team physician or by written referral from a physician, and in accordance with state athletic training practice act. At UBMD, we have supportive mentors to provide support to new grads out in the field. This is a full-time position with travel requirements 50-75% of the time. Different positions available with most being at the secondary school level. New grads and experienced ATCs are encouraged to apply.

Requirements

  • New York State License
  • BOC certified by August 2026
  • CPR and AED certified
  • NATA Certified
  • Possess a valid Driver's License
  • Bachelor’s degree in health-related field
  • 0-1 year experience
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills required. Must be able to multi-task and desire to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain appropriate general treatment orders to be reviewed annually and approved by the team physician.
  • Act as a liaison between family physicians and specialists, the school district, athletes, and their parents
  • Maintain accurate records of injuries and treatments.
  • Maintain open communication between self, coaches and athletic directors about athlete injuries, eligibility to play and other things as needed.
  • Communicate injuries as needed to co-workers
  • Attend scheduled practices and games as given by the coach and athletic director.
  • Attend weekly clinic rotation as scheduled
  • Assumes other responsibilities as requested by Manager.
