About The Position

Job Goal Ensure that safety and health of the athletes come first. Corroborate the prevention of athletic injuries; recognition, evaluation, and the immediate care of athletic injuries. Essential Duties and Responsibilities shall include, but not be limited to the following: Provide trainer service for all home athletic events (all sports, girls & boys) and all sport practices (girls & boys), this includes middle school and high school. Provide training services for all athletes competing in school and district hosted tournaments Work with injured athletes as they complete any physical therapy ordered by a physician or physical therapist Aid coaches and staff in implementing AIA policies Consult with site coaches on athletic injury prevention, basic first aid, and follow up injury treatment and rehabilitation Plan and implement comprehensive athletic injury and illness prevention programs Follow physicians’ orders to implement comprehensive rehabilitation program(s) for athletic injuries Maintain an effective communication line with the Athletic Director on status of all athletes Assess and report the progress of recovering athletes to athletic director, coaches, and physicians Aid the athletic director in evaluating the athletic facilities for hazards and inadequate equipment Aid the athletic director in planning and administering physicals to athletes Maintain student treatment and health records and effectively share the information with athletic director, coaches, physicians, and parents Perform additional duties efficiently and willingly, as assigned Qualification and Requirements To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Requirements

  • Arizona Athletic Training License
  • CPR & First Aid Certifications
  • Professional appearance and demeanor
  • Knowledge and Skills
  • No criminal record
  • Good driving record. No tickets or accidents in the past three years
  • Understanding of students and dedicated to their safety
  • Skilled in handling emergencies
  • Speak before groups of people with poise, voice control and confidence
  • Demonstrate continued professional growth
  • Ability to maintain rapport and composure with parents, students, staff, and the general public
  • Ability to recognize potential problems and take steps to prevent possible athlete injury
  • Alert and careful
  • Ability to relate to the public, staff, and students in a positive manner
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret written documents
  • Ability to respond effectively to inquiries or complaints.
  • Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts.
  • Ability to apply principles of reason and logic for problem-solving purposes.
