About The Position

West Liberty University is seeking applications for an Athletic Trainer to work with NCAA DII athletics. Sport coverage assignment will be based on university needs. Essential Functions of the position: Ability to be a multi-skilled health care professional who can collaborate with physicians to provide preventative services, emergency care, clinical diagnosis, therapeutic intervention and rehabilitation of injuries and medical conditions. Abide by the NATA Code of Ethics. Perform administrative duties including pre participation medical documentation collection and proper documentation of injury of athletes. Attend weekly staff meetings. Travel to athletic contests. Possess a valid driver’s license and occasionally share in driving duties. Work clinical hours in the Athletic Training room as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum of bachelor’s degree from a CAATE accredited institution in Athletic Training/ Sports Medicine or other related field with an Athletic Training concentration.
  • NATA BOC Certification
  • Eligible for WV Athletic Trainer Licensure
  • Professional Rescuer CPR/ AED/ First Aid Certification
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to act independently and make decisions under all circumstances.
  • Ability to adapt to a changing work environment.
  • Positive attitude/ Professionalism
