About The Position

This position is a primary staff position in the Sports Medicine Section of the Campus Health Service. The Athletic Trainer is expected to provide athletic training services for all students including varsity and non-varsity athletes; to act as an athletic trainer for specific UNC teams; and to participate actively in the teaching activities of the Sports Medicine Section, including graduate and undergraduate programs for Athletic Training Students in the Department of Exercise and Sport Science. In addition, the Athletic Trainer will participate in the clinical instruction of the many health care professionals-in-training, Residents and medical students on the Sports Medicine Service and other allied health student that are involved in affiliations with the Sports Medicine Program. Where appropriate, he she will participate in the research activities carried out by the Sports Medicine Program.

Requirements

  • The Athletic Trainer will be bound by the Athletic Trainer Licensure Act (G.S. 90-525, 528).

Nice To Haves

  • Work experiences of at least 3 years as an Athletic Trainer at the Division IA college level are necessary.
  • The strength and conditioning specialist certification is desirable.
