About The Position

Sentara Rockingham Memorial Hospital Orthopedics and Sports Medicine is now hiring a Full-Time Athletic Trainer in Harrisonburg, VA! This opportunity takes place working with various athletic teams at Ft. Defiance High School and comes with a generous sign-on bonus! This position also comes with the unique ability to teach a sports medicine class to growing minds! Hours: Mon-Fri, school-based hours and evenings. Travel is required for Varsity Football away games. Full-time work is still provided at the high school during school breaks.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training or Physical Therapy.
• Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) certification from the Board of Certification for the Athletic Trainer (BOC).
• State License required in state of practice.

Responsibilities

• Document patient/athlete response to treatment and progress towards goals.
• Perform therapeutic interventions by accepted standards of care and within department policies and procedures.
• Provide effective instruction to the patient/athlete and family through standardized educational programs and/or individualized training.
• Assist the department in achieving financial goals.
• Travel with the team(s).
