About The Position

The Athletic Trainer at MultiCare Health Systems is responsible for providing clinical support in an orthopedic or sports medicine setting. This role involves working closely with physicians to ensure optimal patient care throughout the patient visit, adhering to established rooming standards, and assisting with procedures as needed. The position also includes outreach event participation and collaboration with various departments for effective patient care coordination.

Requirements

• National certification by the Board of Certification (bocatc.org) in good standing.
• WA State Athletic Trainer licensure.
• Current CPR certification for medical professionals.
• Post-professional residencies in Sports Medicine/Orthopedics or previous clinical experience preferred.
• WA State registration as Surgical Technologist (RST) or equivalent if required to assist in the operating room.

• NPI number preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work with Sports Medicine/Orthopedic providers to provide patient care and facilitate optimal outcomes.
• Perform, document, and order appropriate physical exams and testing based on clinical presentation.
• Provide patient education and instruction, including triage of patient messages, home exercise programs, pre and post-operative instructions, and test results.
• Provide independent or collaborative medical coverage and athletic training services at community events as directed by the supervising physician.
• Assist in supporting the orthopedic and sports medicine program through outreach events.
• Complete additional duties as assigned in accordance with the Scope of Practice.
