Under the general supervision of clinical leadership, the Athletic Trainer/Orthopedic Technologist provides professional health care and clinical support services within the orthopedic trauma practice. This role serves as a liaison between providers and patients, ensuring high-quality, coordinated care. Responsibilities include performing advanced orthopedic procedures such as FRC casting, plaster splinting, and assisting in both outpatient and inpatient (hospital and operating room) settings. Additional duties involve wound care management, including pin removal, staple and suture removal, wound vacuum management, and dressing changes. The role also includes fitting and educating patients on the use of durable medical equipment (DME). The Athletic Trainer/Orthopedic Technologist works in a dynamic, fast-paced “cast room” environment that requires strong multitasking abilities, attention to detail, and an unbiased, professional approach to patient care.
