About The Position

Responsible for delivery of Athletic Training Care in accordance with NATA (National Athletic Trainer's Association) standards as well as Tennessee and/or Georgia Athletic Training Practice Acts. Standard responsibilities include: prevention, evaluation, treatment and referral of athletic related injuries. Work settings include one or more of the following: High School Outreach settings and College settings. This position is involved in a team-based approach to care. Team members are trained to meet the highest level of function for their role as per the State of Tennessee/Georgia guidelines. Is trained and assigned (as per their role and responsibilities) to coordinate care for patients and is trained and assigned to support patients/families/caregivers in self-management, self-efficacy and behavior change. Is trained and assigned (as per their role and responsibilities) to manage the practices’ patient population. Participates in the practice's quality improvement process and performance evaluation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • BOC Certification.
  • Current license or temporary license to practice in the state of TN or GA.
  • Maintain CPR certification in accordance with respective institutions and Erlanger Policy.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's Degree in Athletic Training or related field.
  • Graduate of NATA approved curriculum educational program.
  • Two years in clinical/collegiate/outreach setting.
  • NATA Membership.

Responsibilities

  • Prevention, evaluation, treatment and referral of athletic related injuries.
  • Coordinate care for patients.
  • Support patients/families/caregivers in self-management, self-efficacy and behavior change.
  • Manage the practice's patient population.
  • Participate in the practice's quality improvement process and performance evaluation.
  • Demonstrate ability to perform functions regarding athletic injuries: prevention, assessment, treatment, and reconditioning.
  • Demonstrate proper taping, strapping, bracing, and fitting of athletic equipment.
  • Carry out all prescribed treatments and recommendations by the team/program/event physician.
  • Cover assigned pre-season physicals, sports games or matches, and related events under the supervision of the program manager.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span.
