About The Position

The Athletic Intern assists in the daily operations of the Athletic Department. Provides practice coverage for assigned sport. Serve as the onsite liaison for student athletes.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or higher in athletic training
• National Athletic Trainers Association certification or ability to obtain within six (6) months of employment
• Current CPR and First Aid certification
• State of Alabama Athletic Trainer's Association License or ability to obtain within six (6) months of employment
• Must have valid U.S. driver's license
• Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies
• Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions

Responsibilities

• Assists in the daily operations of the Athletic Department
• Provides practice coverage for assigned sport
• Serve as the onsite liaison for student athletes
• Assists with all primary medical care for athletes including daily treatment and rehabilitation
• Aides in coverage of all practices or related activities for the assigned program
• Provides transportation of athletes to appointments and procedures
• Assists with upkeep and inventory of all athletic training room supplies
• Aides with management of all athletic training undergraduate students
• Travels for all sports related activity including competition and all supplementary duties as assigned
