Cary, North Carolina is seeking a knowledgeable and committed individual for our Athletic Field Maintenance Technician II position. Our field maintenance teams perform semi-skilled and skilled work to manage the maintenance and preparation of athletic fields. The Athletic Field Maintenance Technician II will be assigned to one of the 'tournament-level' fields, such as Middle Creek and Thomas Brooks. If you are excited to utilize your turf management skills then this is the perfect opportunity for you! The ideal candidate will possess a high level of technical knowledge in turf management and athletic field preparation that allows them to work independently with limited or no supervision. The individual must also be an excellent communicator able to professionally interact with community partners such as the Wake County School System, athletic associations and outside parties. The Athletic Facilities Maintenance Technician II is assigned to complex facilities that host regional and higher profile events, such as college teams and required to operate with a higher level of technical knowledge and independence. An Athletic Field Maintenance Technician II may be the only maintenance personnel on duty during events and may lead other facility maintenance workers, temporary and/or seasonal staff, or facility attendants. Work is performed with general supervision from a Facilities Coordinator and/or Athletic Field Maintenance Crew Leader. This role may require weekend work or flexed schedule. Facilities Maintenance positions are 'critical positions', meaning you are required to report to work during adverse weather or other emergency situations, to maintain equipment and/or assist the Town in any capacity necessary to continue Town operations.
