About The Position

The role of an athletic director is to manage all facets of an athletic program, including scheduling, hiring coaches, promoting programs and events, ordering equipment, constructing budgets, and facilitating operations. Athletic directors also often help fundraise events, coordinate with the booster club, and supervise sports personnel.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree (required)
  • Must maintain control in stressful situations
  • Frequent travel may be required, including overnight travel
  • Extended hours may be required

Nice To Haves

  • Coaching background (preferred)
  • Valid Texas Teaching Certification (preferred)
  • Minimum of three years in a classroom setting (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, implement, and evaluate the athletic program in accordance with the School Handbook, UIL, and the Education Code
  • Manage all facets of the athletic program including the placement of coaches and event scheduling
  • Demonstrate the ability to multi-task and resolve conflict in a timely manner
  • Must possess a strong judgment of character
  • Ability to demonstrate strong communication skills
  • Serve as a Leader by modeling tenacity and heart to the organization
  • May be required to teach
