Basic Function and Responsibility: Creates, maintains, and monitors information on the department's website. Manages and creates content and articles for the department's social media sites and website. Produces multimedia content such as photos, short form videos, and interviews for social media and website. Serves as the department's liaison to the Oakton Marketing and Communications department. Assists in the design and ordering of athletic department marketing and communication materials. Regularly reports metrics on social media and website traffic. Facilitates player, team, recruit, and game day photo shoots. Executes and oversees the following of brand guidelines as specified by the college's Marketing and Communications department. Other job-related duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics. Supervision Received: Supervision is received from the Director of Athletics. Supervision Exercised: None Requirements: Qualifications and Working Conditions: Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be obtained is required. One year of related communication and social media experience required. One year of related experience in a collegiate or professional sports environment preferred. Strong written and verbal communications skills required. Familiarity with AP style writing preferred. Familiarity with Sidearm, Canva, Adobe and various social media platforms is preferred. Demonstrated ability to engage positively and effectively with students, faculty, staff, alumni and external partners required. Exceptional organizational and time management skills are required. Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail. Ability to work flexible hours including some evening and weekend hours consistent with athletic event and student needs is required. Physical Demands: Light lifting to 10 lbs. and light carrying up to 10 lbs. Ability to reach above the shoulder. Periods spent sitting, standing, walking, kneeling, bending, and stooping. Mobility to move between campuses and local district sites. Work is performed in a general office environment and is sedentary. Little or no exposure to adverse working conditions. Additional Information: Working Days and Hours: This is a 20 hour per week position, approximately 12 hours a week M-F in the office and 8 hours a week attending afternoon and evening athletic events. SALARY: $22.29 per hour Based on the needs of the college and with Administrator approval, some positions at the college may have a hybrid schedule option available after 30 working days.
