About the position

The Athletic Department Administrative Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting the Director of Athletics at New Canaan High School. This part-time position involves assisting with athletic scheduling, managing compliance platforms, and facilitating communication within the school and community. The role is essential for ensuring smooth operations within the athletic department and requires strong organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Acts as confidential admin to Director of Athletics
  • Manages and monitors the Final Forms registration platform
  • Organizes and troubleshoots the SportYou communication platform
  • Schedules transportation for athletic teams
  • Assists in preparation of reports and related departmental requirements
  • Organizes, manages, and facilitates athletic awards
  • Manages the scheduling of gym use at NCHS and Saxe for school and town organizations
  • Responds to inquiries from coaches, teachers, students, and parents
  • Answers telephone calls, responds to routine questions, takes messages, routes calls to appropriate personnel
  • Maintains current information and knowledge of school district operations
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Ability to learn how to use new platforms and related software
  • Ability to develop effective working relationships with students, staff, vendors, parents, administration, and the school community
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
  • Ability to handle a multitude of responsibilities with minimal supervision
