One of the most beloved resorts in New England, The Woodstock Inn & Resort, is seeking an Athletic Club Manager to join the team at the Woodstock Athletic Club. The Woodstock Athletic Club at Woodstock Inn & Resort is the area’s premier facility for health and recreation. The club offers lessons from USPTA-certified instructors, court rentals, swimming, cardio and weight equipment, movement and cycling studios, outdoor trails, fitness and yoga classes, and an indoor pool 一 all under its 42,000-square-foot roof. Job Summary:  The Athletic Club Manager is responsible for overseeing front desk operations, supporting membership services, and managing key aspects of the fitness program. This position ensures high-quality member experience, maintains smooth daily operations, and provides direct supervision and support to both front desk and fitness staff. This position is part of the Athletic Club leadership team, so weekly meetings and close communication with the Athletic Club Director, Tennis Director, and Member Services Manager are a key part of this position.

Requirements

  • Efficient computer skills and communication skills, multi-tasking and organizational skills, attention to detail.
  • Previous experience in customer service industry, or in fitness industry. Previous experience supervising staff.
  • Perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy.
  • Be a clear thinker, remain calm, and resolve problems using rational judgment.
  • Follow directions and instructions thoroughly.
  • Work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team.
  • Maintain confidentiality of privileged and pertinent resort data and information.
  • Ability to provide articulately constructed professional communications.
  • Ability to properly communicate all complaints, problems, and matters of concern to the Director of People & Culture or appropriate Department Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise all front desk staff, including hiring support, training, scheduling, and performance reviews.
  • Maintain and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all front desk tasks.
  • Provide membership services, including creating and managing member contracts, processing payments, and assisting with inquiries.
  • Schedule and lead monthly front desk team meetings.
  • Work front desk shifts as needed to support operations.
  • Serve as Manager on Duty (MOD) during designated times.
  • Share responsibility for retail ordering, inventory management, and product oversight in collaboration with the Athletic Club Director.
  • Oversee substitute instructor scheduling to ensure adequate class coverage.
  • Ensure accurate, timely publication of monthly fitness class schedules.
  • Conduct regular meetings and check-ins with fitness instructors to support communication, performance, and program quality.
