If you're passionate about groundbreaking technology and want to make a real impact alongside a fast-paced team that thrives on creativity and collaboration, we’d love to have you on board! indie is seeking a Principal / Senior Principal ATE Test Engineer to lead the development and deployment of production-ready ATE test solutions for complex SoCs in advanced technology nodes. This role plays a critical part across the product lifecycle—from DFT and test concept development through characterization, qualification, and high-volume manufacturing—while supporting automotive-quality standards.

Requirements

Hands-on experience with Advantest V93000 platform (Smarterest 7 or Smarterest 8).
Strong background in DFT and manufacturing test concepts, especially for large SoCs.
Deep knowledge of semiconductor test methodologies.
Solid understanding of digital and analog fundamentals.
Strong programming skills for developing and debugging test programs and resolving hardware-related issues.
Proficiency in scripting and high-level programming languages (e.g., Python, Perl, C/C++, or Java).
Practical experience using lab test equipment such as oscilloscopes and logic analyzers.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

Develop and document comprehensive test plans for new semiconductor devices.
Contribute to test concept development and Design-for-Test (DFT) strategy during product development.
Lead ATE hardware and software development for bring-up, characterization, reliability, and production testing.
Ensure high product quality and cost-effective test solutions suitable for mass production.
Oversee test-related activities (hardware and software) with internal teams and external test houses.
Release, qualify, and maintain test solutions at offshore/high-volume production test sites.
Drive test solutions for complex digital SoCs in advanced process nodes.
Support compliance with automotive quality standards, including ISO 26262 where applicable.
Identify gaps in test processes, methodologies, and tools; drive continuous improvement toward zero-defect quality.
Collaborate cross-functionally with design, product, quality, and manufacturing teams to achieve program goals.
