About The Position

We are now looking for an ATE Senior Hardware Engineer. ATE/SLT hardware team provides the interface hardware of IC package testing at final test and system level test. Hardware includes highly custom high-speed sockets, active thermal plungers, and load boards. This role has an emphasis on socket technology for high interface data rates and large/innovative packaging form-factors. Take an active role in hardware development and design for both products bring-up and HVM, continuous improvement, and verification/debug.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, with a preference for EE and ME related degrees.
  • More than 7 years of experience in IC testing engineering and ATE/SLT hardware engineering.
  • Strong background in socket contact pin and frame development, understanding how pin development impacts signal integrity such as TDR.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of socket mechanical and electrical properties, including tolerance analysis and FEA reports.
  • Skilled in interpreting mechanical drawings and understanding mechanical and electrical circuits.
  • Proficiency in IC testing, covering ATE/SLT interface hardware, upkeep, problem-solving, and repairs.
  • Experience with ATE testers is advantageous.
  • Proven troubleshooting skills with the ability to devise solutions and prevent issues from recurring.
  • Willingness to engage in hands-on work, including socket pin investigations and repairs.
  • Ability to lift 30-pound thermal plungers or load boards during unboxing, boxing, and short transportation as well as knowledge of ESD prevention and control.

  • Demonstrated history of working directly with ATE/SLT socket in engineering setups to high-volume production.

  • Continuously pursuing engineering excellence by working through design, hands-on troubleshooting, and preventive action.

Responsibilities

  • Introduce, develop, verify, and qualify new ATE/SLT socket technologies alongside socket suppliers, ensuring alignment with upcoming IC chip roadmaps.
  • Review and approve ATE/SLT socket technology builds for IC testing during product bring-up and production phases.
  • Provide comprehensive ATE and SLT test fixture/hardware solutions, coordinating the entire process from development and manufacturing to schedule monitoring, verification, and continuous improvement.
  • Complete DOE with a strong sense of responsibility, collecting and analyzing engineering data to make informed decisions and recommendations for improvement.
  • Offer global cross-functional support, driving projects and hosting meetings with both internal teams and external collaborators.
  • Apply outstanding hardware troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills, implementing preventive actions to ensure flawless performance.
  • Beyond socket technology, debug surrounding hardware, including thermal plungers and PCBs.
  • Provide on-duty lab support, including potential weekend work when necessary.
