About The Position

At Automotive Technology Experts (ATE), we understand the importance of providing fast and accurate vehicle diagnostic scanning and calibration services. We service hundreds of customers that rely on us to ensure that the repairs they have completed are safe and that the vehicle will operate as the manufacturer had intended. ATE was founded in 2019 to provide technological and electrical repair expertise in the collision industry that struggles to stay current with the rapidly changing technology in vehicles. JOB PURPOSE: The Field Training Manager is responsible for leading and developing a team of Field Trainers to ensure consistent, high-quality delivery of technical training across all assigned regions. This role oversees scheduling, travel coordination, trainer performance, and adherence to training standards while supporting the creation and improvement of training content, SOPs, and certification pathways. The Field Training Manager partners closely with the Director of Training and Training Center Manager, HR, Technical Support, Product, and Tooling teams to align field training with current tools, technologies, and business needs. By identifying skill gaps and emerging training requirements, the role ensures technicians receive effective, up-to-date instruction that drives operational excellence and supports continuous learning across the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Training & Development, Instructional Design, Business Administration, or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of management experience.
  • 5+ years of training background developing, and overseeing training programs.
  • Strong technological skills, including but not limited to: Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint, Word, etc.
  • Familiarity with industry standards, regulations, and safety protocols related to ADAS technologies.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to adapt training approaches to different audiences and learning styles.
  • Proven training and instructional design skills, with the ability to communicate complex concepts effectively.
  • Exude professionalism showing passion for the industry with an unwavering drive to doing things correctly.
  • Overnight/air travel required, up to 75% of the time, depending on drivability of assigned market.
  • A safe driving record and a valid Driver’s License required.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time in automotive shop environments.

Nice To Haves

  • 2+ years working in or around the ADAS Industry, with knowledge in ADAS and electrical services, equipment/tooling, and procedures preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage, and develop a team of Field Trainers across multiple regions by conducting regular 1:1s, performance evaluations, and ride-alongs to ensure consistent, high-quality training delivery.
  • Establish accountability for timely weekly recap submissions and strict adherence to training standards.
  • Conduct periodic reviews and evaluations of trainer delivery to ensure consistent, high-quality instruction.
  • Coordinate, schedule, and optimize trainer travel and market coverage to maximize training efficiency.
  • Assist in managing the training budget for materials, travel, tools, and equipment.
  • Identify training gaps, business needs, and emerging tools/equipment; design new programs accordingly (e.g., ADAS, diagnostics, EV, mechanical, glass).
  • Partner with HR, Director of Training, Training Center Manager or Learning & Development on LMS oversight, tracking course completion, and standardizing training records.
  • Identify and provide updates for training content, SOPs, videos, job aids, assessments, and checklists.
  • Assist with coordinating continuous learning modules to keep technicians current with evolving technology and OEM procedures.
  • Assist in developing and supporting internal certification pathways or OEM credentialing programs when applicable.
