About The Position

The Asylee Outreach Program Case Manager plays a crucial role in providing social and legal services to various populations recognized by the Office of Refugee Resettlement. This position focuses on helping clients overcome barriers to self-sufficiency by offering direct case management support, facilitating access to resources, and advocating for their needs. The role involves working closely with clients to create individualized service plans, conducting assessments, and maintaining comprehensive case documentation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree; social work experience and/or education preferred.
  • Prior experience with case management strongly preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and desire to serve diverse populations.
  • Ability to work in a team and with diverse professionals.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Critical thinking and creative problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to communicate effectively through a 3rd party interpreter required.
  • Fluency in relevant languages preferred but not required.
  • Experience working with vulnerable immigrant populations is strongly preferred.
  • Emotional resilience to manage conversations with individuals who have experienced trauma.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and database management.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Valid driver's license required.

Nice To Haves

  • Fluency in Spanish, Swahili, Urdu, French, Arabic, Ukrainian, Dari, Pashto, or other relevant languages preferred.
  • Experience working with immigrant populations.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct initial enrollment of clients into the Asylee Outreach Program.
  • Identify barriers to self-sufficiency and create individualized service plans.
  • Provide case management services based on the service plan and complete case closure at the end of services.
  • Complete case assessments to determine appropriateness for the agency and client needs.
  • Collect relevant client documents and prepare comprehensive case summaries in the database management system.
  • Support clients in attaining their goals through various means, including cultural orientation and advocacy with partner agencies.
  • Assist clients in accessing public benefits, housing, and financial assistance.
  • Organize and facilitate self-sufficiency workshops on various topics.
  • Maintain regular contact with clients through various communication methods.
  • Identify community resources for clients related to education, childcare, and employment.
  • Maintain data integrity of client files and document services in compliance with federal contracts.
  • Complete monthly and quarterly program reports and case closure reports.
  • Collaborate with legal staff to address social service needs of clients.
  • Assist clients with obtaining and renewing identification documents for employment and benefits.
  • Advocate against structural barriers in government systems that hinder self-sufficiency.
  • Collaborate with service providers and community organizations to identify service gaps.
