  • Curriculum Development: Review and evaluate curriculum to meet student needs and budget constraints; coordinate with part-time instructors; present proposals for curriculum changes.
  • Lecture/Laboratory/Field Preparation: Prepare lesson plans, select and prepare materials, maintain laboratory equipment, and ensure proper functioning of instructional tools.
  • Student Performance Evaluation: Develop quizzes and tests, monitor student activity during assessments, and provide feedback on academic performance.
  • Shared Governance Participation: Attend departmental meetings, participate in curriculum development, and serve on campus-wide committees.
  • Ancillary Student Services: Hold office hours, provide academic advice, and participate in student ceremonies.
  • Master's in physics, astronomy, or astrophysics, or a Bachelor's in physics or astronomy and a Master's in engineering, mathematics, meteorology, or geophysics.
  • Experience in curriculum development and student performance evaluation.
  • Ability to support historically underrepresented and underserved students.
  • Experience with culturally responsive teaching strategies.
  • Familiarity with equity-minded practices in education.
  • Membership in the State Teachers Retirement System (STRS).
