About The Position
The B3 Supervisor Track Inspections position at Norfolk Southern involves assisting with the training and supervision of track employees on an assigned territory. The role requires inspecting all assigned track, both company and customer-owned, to detect abnormalities in the track structure and determine the proper course of action for immediate correction or other remedial action to protect the movement of trains without unnecessary delay. The supervisor will assume the responsibilities and duties of their manager on alternate weekends and holidays, and whenever the manager is absent. Additionally, the supervisor will provide necessary inspection record reports and assist with correspondence, material requisitions, charge-outs, payroll approval, procurement, and credit card review. The position also involves planning and organizing work within the authorized budget and requires FRA certification for track/bridge inspection and knowledge of Norfolk Southern Safety and Operating Rules.
