About The Position

The University of Rochester is seeking an Assistant Supervisor for the Imaging Sciences-CT department. This position involves managing technical, administrative, quality, and personnel functions within the imaging section under the direction of the CT Clinical Manager. The Assistant Supervisor will provide general supervision and technical support to the Imaging section, functioning at the highest level of a staff technologist as needed. The work schedule is Monday to Friday during the day, specifically from 10 AM to 8:30 PM on Monday through Thursday.

Requirements

  • Satisfactory completion of formal training in an approved School of Radiologic Technology.
  • Maintains current NYS Licensure and ARRT certification with CE credits as required.
  • Minimum of 4 years of progressively responsible work experience within the field of Imaging Sciences.
  • At least 2 years of experience dedicated to CT.

Responsibilities

  • Participates in the management of technical, administrative, quality, and personnel functions of the imaging section.
  • Provides direction to Imaging technical and support staff to ensure smooth and compliant operation of assigned area.
  • Works closely with IS Nursing, Clerical, IT, Faculty, and staff to achieve maximum productivity with efficient and safe patient throughput.
  • Keeps abreast of new developments within CT and imaging sciences.
  • Acts as a subject matter expert in downtime procedures and as a super-user for new equipment or programs.
  • Adjusts equipment and determines proper imaging techniques to produce high-quality images.
  • Reviews data for accuracy, troubleshoots problems, and reports discrepancies.
  • Oversees daily operations with accountability for the professional conduct and technical performance of personnel.
  • Counsels and directs personnel as needed.
  • Serves as a clinical consultant to CT staff providing real-time guidance.
  • Assists in assignment scheduling of personnel and timekeeping/payroll functions.
  • Manages inventory and compliance of all CT equipment.
  • Completes daily calibration of imaging equipment as guided by manufacturers and Joint Commission standards.
  • Escalates and responds to patient care concerns and reports issues to senior leadership.
  • Participates in the interview and performance review process.
  • Provides supervisory coverage in the absence of the Manager.
  • Participates in meetings and committees, preparing the department for regulatory surveys.
