About The Position

Orlando Health - St. Cloud Hospital is seeking a dedicated individual for the position of Assistant Nurse Operations Manager (ANOM) in the emergency room. The emergency room currently has 24 beds and a total of 85 beds in the hospital, with plans for expansion in 2026. The ANOM will play a crucial role in overseeing clinical operations to ensure the delivery of safe, quality patient care and high patient satisfaction. This position requires strong communication skills, the ability to coach others, and a commitment to resolving conflicts effectively.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience in an emergency room setting.
  • 1-2 years of leadership experience with direct hires.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing required.
  • Current State of Florida RN license or valid eNLC multistate RN license.
  • Current BLS certification; ACLS, PALS, NALS, or TNCC as determined by specialty area.

Responsibilities

  • Assist on the floor as needed and work bedside when the census is high or staff are unavailable.
  • Oversee clinical operations within assigned practice settings to ensure safe quality patient care.
  • Ensure compliance with physician orders and established policies, procedures, and standards of practice.
  • Work with management and physicians to design, implement, and evaluate care delivery models.
  • Ensure consistent delivery of evidence-based practice standards.
  • Establish and coordinate appropriate levels of clinical staffing.
  • Promote and communicate change effectively.
  • Cultivate exemplary customer service throughout the unit/department.
  • Identify and achieve compliance with clinical indicators supporting organizational goals.
  • Develop and mentor team members, facilitating their involvement in professional activities.
  • Advocate on behalf of nursing staff and represent concerns of patients and families.
  • Monitor operational expenses to stay within budget and assist in budget development.
  • Perform direct patient care activities as required.
  • Manage human resources functions including hiring, work assignments, and performance counseling.
  • Maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies.
