You are at the heart of health Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) The Assistant Nurse Manager will: Provide leadership and direction for the unit in the absence of the Nurse Manager as well as liaison between physician, patient and family. Aids in orientation and mentoring of new employees, as well as keeping existing employees in constant readiness to respond to patient emergencies. Responsible for the coordination of assignments that meet the appropriate standard of care for patient's acuity to staff and organize teams based on Novice to Expert theory; Participate in staff development and training while performing as a mentor and resource person; Maintain clinical competency to manage a clinical assignment. Retain responsibility for the health and safety of patients and employees. Participate with the Nurse Manager in completing performance evaluations, resolving personnel problems, counseling employees, patient experience, and regulatory agency preparedness.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of Registered Nurse (RN) experience (preferred) in relevant acute care clinical setting, leadership experience preferred.
  • Education: Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree required. Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred.
  • Licensure: New York Registered Nurse (RN) License & Registration
  • Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) required, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) (if applicable), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) (if applicable)

Responsibilities
