About The Position

The Assistant Nurse Manager is responsible for the daily clinical operations of the Pain Management Unit. This role involves mentoring, supervising, and evaluating the team to reach their full potential and inspire continual professional growth. The Assistant Nurse Manager will also be responsible for scheduling the night shift, handling patient relations issues, and regularly assessing unit operations to identify process improvements that enhance the patient experience. Additionally, the role requires assessing and evaluating patient needs for care, applying sound nursing judgment in patient care management decisions, and coordinating patient care activities based on established priorities, including teaching, rounding, counseling, and discharge planning. Effective and professional communication with patients, significant others, and members of the health care team about the patient's plan of care is essential.

Requirements

  • Critical care experience preferred
  • Previous experience required in an inpatient and/or outpatient pain management setting
  • Strong IV skills are a MUST
  • Must be able to complete Pre-operative assessment, review charts, and cross-train to PST when necessary
  • Education: Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree preferred
  • Licensure: New York Registered Nurse (RN) License & Registration
  • Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS), ACLS and PALS required
