  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of all SCCU lending criteria, guidelines, procedures, policies and processes to assist Underwriting Team Members and other lending departments effectively.
  • Conduct initial onboarding for all new Underwriting Team Members and provide ongoing training to ensure continued effectiveness, outstanding service, and compliance.
  • Monitor all loan queues to ensure department service level standards are met.
  • Track potential trends and issues to identify training needs and recommend process improvements.
  • Assist Underwriting Team Members with escalations, inter-department escalations and suggest alternatives, fostering independent decision-making capabilities to exceed expectations and bolster confidence.
  • Handle relationships with dealer partners including any potential escalations.
  • Adhere to established department and organizational policies, procedures, objectives, and quality standards to maintain consistent Underwriting Department operations.
  • Assist in overseeing the daily operation of the Underwriters, including monitoring various queues to ensure the department service level goal is attained.
  • Assist management in developing reports to track queues, efficiency, product-based reporting for the department and loan turn times.
  • Complete annual Performance Appraisals (PA's) for each team member and deliver the PA at the appointed time.
  • May manage and approve timecards and PTO requests in UKG.
  • Responsible for creating and maintaining the work schedule of the team.
  • High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in an indirect or direct underwriting role.
