  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of all SCCU lending criteria, guidelines, procedures, policies and processes to assist Underwriting Team Members and other lending departments effectively.
  • Conduct initial onboarding for all new Underwriting Team Members and provide ongoing training.
  • Monitor all loan queues to ensure department service level standards are met.
  • Track potential trends and issues to identify training needs and recommend process improvements.
  • Assist Underwriting Team Members with escalations, inter-department escalations and suggest alternatives, fostering independent decision-making capabilities to exceed expectations and bolster confidence.
  • Assist in overseeing the daily operation of the Underwriters to ensure the department service level goal is attained.
  • Assist management in developing reports to track queues, efficiency, product-based reporting for the department and loan turn times.
  • Complete annual Performance Appraisals (PA's) for each team member and deliver the PA at the appointed time.
  • Manage and approve time cards and PTO requests in UKG.
  • Aid management in conducting interviews for potential candidates to select exceptional applicants with the requisite experience for their roles.
  • Manage department invoices efficiently and accurately, ensuring timely processing and adherence to budgetary guidelines.
  • A High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in an Underwriting or customer service role is required.
  • Experience in a financial services environment is preferred.
  • Prior Leadership experience is preferred.
