About The Position

We are seeking a hands-on, Asst. Manager, DC Operations to lead all WH functions for our new 500,000-sq-ft distribution center in Savannah, GA—the largest among our facilities nationwide. The Assistant General Manager of the Distribution Center will play a crucial role in overseeing operational processes, optimizing efficiency, and fostering a culture of excellence within the distribution center. Reporting directly to the General Manager, you will collaborate closely with various departments to ensure seamless operations, meet performance targets, and uphold the company’s core values. The role requires strong leadership skills, operational acumen, and a commitment to driving continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience maintaining and enforcing a strong safety culture in a warehouse environment.
  • Tier One WMS experience required; Blue Yonder experience is a plus.
  • Experience in automated, fast-paced facilities running multiple shifts.
  • Proven experience managing teams and overseeing daily warehouse operations.
  • Experience with inventory control, cycle counting, and accuracy programs.
  • Experience driving process improvements and meeting operational KPIs.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a safety-first culture, ensuring compliance with all OSHA, company, and facility safety standards.
  • Assist the General Manager in overseeing all operational aspects of the Distribution Center, including managing receiving, picking, packing, and inventory control processes.
  • Directly oversee the day-to-day operations of at least one functional area, such as shipping, receiving, packing, or inventory control.
  • Contribute to the establishment and achievement of targeted service level, productivity, and financial objectives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for process optimization and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support the development of a high-performance culture by providing guidance and mentorship to team members and fostering a sense of accountability and teamwork.
  • Participate in talent acquisition, training, and development efforts to build skilled and motivated teams.
  • Monitor performance metrics, analyze data, and implement corrective actions to ensure operational efficiency and productivity.
  • Cultivate strong relationships and collaboration with other departments, distribution centers, and corporate offices to achieve common goals and objectives.
