About The Position

This position provides expertise in the area of upgrades, repair, maintenance, programming and installation of new and existing machines, tools, and equipment, and in the maintenance of the building, grounds, and utility systems. Responsible for providing technical support, training, troubleshooting and process improvements as needed to ensure World Class Manufacturing.

Requirements

  • Grade 12 education or equivalent.
  • Four-year degree in Electrical Engineering or related field and/or 4 years job related experience.
  • Ability to problem solve.
  • Understanding of metal stamping, spot welding and assembly processes.
  • Complete understanding of PLC’s and programming with the ability to program/teach robots.
  • Electrical knowledge (National Electric Code) and control wiring.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to develop positive relationships with associates, customers and vendors.
  • Proficient computer skills required.
  • Ability to communicate with others, both verbal and written.
  • Able to prepare, read, write, and interpret reports, instructions, procedures and business correspondence.
  • Must exhibit high integrity and honesty.
  • Able to clearly and effectively respond to questions from management, employees, suppliers, and customers.
  • Able to manage and schedule multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Able to work flexible hours to be available to three shifts.
  • Must be able to perform physical activities, such as, but not limited to, lifting equipment (up to 40 lbs. unassisted), bending, standing, climbing, or walking.
  • Must be able to safely use manual tools and power equipment common in the construction trades.
  • Must be able to handle hazardous materials safely and tolerate exposure to electrical and other environmental hazards.
  • Support and comply with all TS16949 & ISO14001 procedures and work instructions.
  • Support a safe and healthful work environment that is free of recognized hazards for all employees, contractors, and visitors.
  • Cooperate with all local, state, and federal agencies, such as OSHA or the EPA, in the event of an inspection.
  • Know and follow all applicable EH&S Policies and Procedures.
  • Support and comply with all Customer Requirements, ISO9001/IATF16949, ISO14001 & ISO45001 procedures and work instructions.
  • Support a safe and healthful work environment that is free of recognized hazards for all employees, contractors, and visitors.
  • Cooperate with all local, state, and federal agencies, such as OSHA or the EPA, in the event of an inspection.
  • Know and follow all applicable Magna Corporate Mafact Requirements.

  • Develop and implement a training program for all Production & Skilled Trades employees to upgrade their skill levels.

  • Coordinate and supervise materials and components required for equipment maintenance and manufacturing.

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

  • Preventative Maintenance System / TPM scheduling and follow -up of tasks within the PM.
  • Responsible for adhering to OSHA and EPA regulations.
  • Maintain a safe and healthful working environment where zero lost time injuries are expected standard of work by all Production & Maintenance employees.
  • Follow and enforce all plant safety rules and procedures, promoting and practicing safety first policy, including housekeeping
  • Assesses own strengths and weaknesses; Pursues training and development opportunities; Strives to continuously build knowledge and skills; Shares expertise with others.
  • Maintain a motivated and proud teamwork environment with ownership in workmanship.
  • Encourage two-way, open, and friendly attitudes at all times. Be approachable and listen to employees.
  • Maintain accurate documentation resulting in shared knowledge of issues and lessons learned.
  • Troubleshoot and train others on identifying root causes of equipment failures.
  • Ensure that operator safety devices function properly.
  • Ability to perform electrical diagnosis, recommend repair or repair as needed.
  • Implements improvements in cycle time of robotic welding and assemblies.
  • Oversee all upgrades and programming changes.
  • Ensure that equipment is built in accordance with all aspects of the latest version of LMV’s build standards.
  • Develop and implement innovative solutions to manufacturing issues related to product development or enhancement.
  • Evaluate and make recommendations on equipment updates.
  • Trains personnel in the use of robot interfacing, and PLC ladder logic.
  • Achieve employee opinion survey score of 85% but no less than 50% by: Conducting regular talks with Production & Maintenance employees on their individual job performances with helpful work-related feedback during reviews (individual corrective action plans). Production & Maintenance employees receive timely performance reviews annually. Deal fairly, with dignity and respect, with all employees. Resolve and help employees with their concerns. Apply consistent and fair progressive discipline to those employees who do not follow plant rules. Conduct communication meetings with all Production & Maintenance employees discussing issues within the work areas. Effectively use Production & Skilled Trades resources. Ensures rework is complete and quarantine is kept to an acceptable operating level.
  • Be on call 24 hours per day for emergencies.
  • Actively participate in the cross-management team in achieving world class performance in safety, quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement activities.

  • Manage and supervise employees in a production environment consisting of maintenance technicians, welding technicians, tooling technicians, facilities electrical maintenance, facilities maintenance, fabricator, facility maintenance coordinator and maintenance area leaders.
