Just look up. Are you ready to go beyond? The Pratt & Whitney Quality organization is seeking an energetic, entry level contributor to support the East Hartford Hollow Fan Blade MCL Laboratory Group. The MCL Laboratory Group is responsible for chemical, mechanical, and metallurgical testing for validation to blueprint and specification requirements of various aerospace materials and finished parts. What you will do: Lab Tech responsible for metallurgical sample preparation, evaluation, disposition and quality documentation of materials/processes. Interpret blue prints, specifications, procedures and laboratory manuals to assess what testing is required and conformance to requirements. Interact with the shop to help respond to metallurgical problems and develop effective root cause and corrective action as appropriate. An effective team player and contributor is sought who will help the lab maintain it’s EH&S and operating requirements to assure a safe and productive working environment. Perform analyses related to the evaluation of aerospace materials for compliance to standards. Possess a strong work ethic; the ability to work independently, and prioritize work flow, is critical. Provide clear, concise, and accurate lab reports. Interact effectively with customers at all levels.

Requirements

  • HS Diploma or AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with less than 2 years of relevant experience
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Nice To Haves

  • Successful candidate may have prior metallurgical laboratory experience, and understanding of lab protocols
