About The Position

Compass Intervention Center is seeking a dynamic and talented Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON). The ADON must be self-motivated, self-directed, creative, energetic, and able to manage multiple tasks. This position assists the Director of Nursing in developing department goals, objectives, standards of performance, policies, and procedures, and organizes the department in accordance with administrative guidelines. The ADON directs the implementation and ensures compliance with the Standard of Nursing Practice that promotes optimum health care delivery. Additionally, the ADON participates in the development of new educational and research programs for the expansion of nursing and patient care services and identifies and leads strategies to improve and sustain patient experience scores.

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing is required; Master Degree preferred.
• Licensure by the Tennessee Board of Registered Nursing required.
• Minimum of 1-3 years’ experience in a behavioral health setting.
• Demonstrate the ability to provide training and education.
• Working knowledge of Joint Commission standards, OSHA, and State of Tennessee requirements for employee training and education.
• Knowledge of and ability to abide by HIPAA regulations.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Director of Nursing in developing department goals, objectives, standards of performance, policies, and procedures.
• Organize the department in accordance with administrative guidelines.
• Direct the implementation and ensure compliance with the Standard of Nursing Practice.
• Participate in the development of new educational and research programs.
• Identify and lead strategies to improve and sustain patient experience scores.
• Develop and provide oversight for the hospital-wide education and training program.
• Assist department managers in providing education and training needs of staff.
