About The Position

Located on a 27-acre wooded campus, Fairmount Behavioral Health System is a peaceful, therapeutic environment for patients and families. Fairmount is a major regional resource for children, adolescents and adults who have psychiatric and behavioral problems as well as alcohol and drug dependency needs. The spacious campus borders Fairmount Park in the Roxborough section of Philadelphia. With one of the leading alcohol and drug detox and rehab programs in Philadelphia, Fairmount is the provider of choice for individuals requiring specialized co-occurring psychiatric and chemical dependency treatment. We are currently seeking an Assistant Director of Admission to join our team. The Assistant Director of Admissions assists the Director of Admissions with the administrative oversight and direction of the hospital’s Admissions Department. This position provides supervision to a staff of specialists in the provision of patient access to care and behavioral health assessment services, including call management, clinical evaluations for level of care, crisis intervention, admissions and referrals. This position interfaces closely with the hospital’s medical staff, nursing staff, department leaders, and administration, as well as external referring agencies and payers. The Assistant Director of Admissions is responsible for assisting with departmental adherence to policies and procedures, regulatory compliance, service excellence, and data entry/management. In addition, the Assistant Director reports directly to the Director of Admissions and will assist in interviewing/hiring new staff, staff supervision, clinical case consultation, coordination and organization of day-to-day activities that will enhance effectiveness of the Admissions Department and security to ensure smooth admissions, processing for referral sources, families, staff and patients.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in a Behavioral Healthcare field required.
  • LSW/LCSW and LPC required, PA RN License preferred.
  • Prior experience working directly with a psychiatric behavioral health population between 1-3 years required.
  • Experience managing a professional/clinical team and responsible for staffing, budget, and process improvement.
  • Knowledge of addiction and recovery field and experience in clinical interviewing, patient assessment, and family motivation.
  • Experience in treatment planning, communicating with external review organizations, crisis intervention techniques, and working effectively with diverse backgrounds.

  • Provide staff supervision and clinical case consultation.
  • Coordinate and organize day-to-day activities to enhance effectiveness of the Admissions Department.
