About The Position

The Assistant Dining Supervisor supports the Dining Manager in delivering a welcoming, consistent, and high-quality dining experience for Members and their families. This role has a strong emphasis on staff training, service consistency, and positive team culture, ensuring that every guest—from young children to long‑standing Members—feels comfortable, valued, and well cared for. The ideal candidate is an engaging, hands‑on leader who enjoys training others and creating a service environment that is both professional and family friendly. Key Responsibilities Member Experience Create a warm, inclusive dining atmosphere that reflects The Club’s welcoming culture Ensure service delivery is attentive, friendly, and adaptable to Members of all ages Develop positive relationships with Members and their families through regular interaction and thoughtful service Handle feedback and concerns with empathy and professionalism, using opportunities to reinforce training and service improvements Staff Training & Development (Primary Focus) Lead and support comprehensive front-of-house training programs focused on consistency, friendliness, and family‑appropriate service Train staff on interacting confidently and respectfully with children and families while maintaining dining standards Conduct onboarding and orientation for new hires, ensuring clear understanding of club culture, service expectations, and family service dynamics Provide frequent on-the-floor coaching, reinforcing tone, body language, pacing, and communication Develop team members’ menu knowledge, allergy awareness, beverage service, and problem-solving skills Foster a supportive learning environment that encourages questions and accountability Dining Operations & Service Management Assist with daily dining room operations, including casual dining, outdoor dining, pool service, take-out service, Member events, and banquets Monitor service flow to balance efficiency with a relaxed, enjoyable pace Ensure dining areas are clean, organized, and presentation-ready at all times Support execution of children-focused events, themed nights, holiday programs, and family celebrations Responsible for opening and closing procedures as scheduled Team Leadership & Culture Model calm, positive leadership during busy and high-energy service periods Assist with staff scheduling to ensure proper coverage during dining hours Promote teamwork, inclusion, and professionalism across all front-of-house roles Reinforce hospitality values that emphasize patience, flexibility, and approachability Financial & Administrative Support Support labor efficiency through thoughtful scheduling and productivity coaching Reinforce accurate POS usage, check handling, and basic cash controls Assist in maintaining inventory awareness and minimizing waste through staff education Collaboration & Communication Work closely with the culinary team to ensure staff is fully trained on menus, kids’ options, dietary restrictions, and allergens Assist in inventorying of all beverage products Coordinate with event and recreation teams to support family programs and special events. Requirements

  • 2–4 years of hospitality leadership experience, preferably in a private club or restaurant
  • Proven experience training and coaching service staff
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to connect with both adults and children
  • Positive, patient, and solution-oriented leadership style
  • Working knowledge of POS systems and front-of-house operations
  • Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds occasionally
  • Work performed in dining rooms, outdoor spaces, and event venues

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in a country club or recreational hospitality environment
  • Food safety and responsible alcohol service certifications (or willingness to obtain)
  • Hospitality or service management training
