Responsibilities

  • Maintain an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness with an emphasis on providing fast and friendly customer service.
  • Assist customers by making product suggestions, filling special orders, and providing food preparation suggestions.
  • Answer and respond to incoming calls appropriately.
  • Receive and resolve customer complaints, reporting to the Store Director as needed.
  • Engage in suggestive selling and other sales techniques via telephone, in-store intercom, and one-on-one customer interaction.
  • Assist with all department duties such as preparation, baking, decorating, and displaying of products.
  • Implement proper and efficient product preparation and packaging techniques.
  • Maintain bakery case cleanliness, visual appeal, and inventory levels.
  • Ensure proper cleanliness, sanitation, and appearance of the bakery area and equipment, ensuring a safe and clean work environment.
  • Ensure temperatures are maintained in all phases of preparation, display, and storage.
  • Assist with scheduling, supervising, training, and assigning duties to department employees.
  • Assist with planning daily operations and monitor production processes following company procedures and profitability.
  • Assist with preparing sales and inventory reports and physical inventory taken every 4 weeks.
  • Control inventory to ensure adequate product quantity, quality, and freshness, maintaining inventory levels according to division directives.
  • Stock and rotate products, maintaining and organizing the cooler.
  • Understand opening and closing department procedures.
  • Build displays, rotate, and discard outdated or spoiled products.
  • Ensure cleanliness of the work area and department.
  • Ensure proper code dating for all products within the department is enforced.
  • Follow and maintain department standards and implement effective promotional and seasonal displays.
  • Perform receiving duties including breaking down loads, verifying orders using invoices, inspecting quality, reporting shortages, stocking, and rotating products.
  • Adhere to product temperature and storage guidelines and follow proper packaging techniques.
  • Process administrative paperwork and maintain accurate department records.
  • Accurately complete, maintain, and monitor daily log sheets, Production Charts, Sales and Labor, and other required paperwork and logs.
  • Control shrink and cost.
  • Attend and participate in sales meetings and communicate sales goals, department performance, and sales opportunities to department employees.
