The Assistant Branch Manager at Patelco Credit Union plays a crucial role in co-leading the branch team, focusing on member experience and financial well-being. This position involves strategic planning, team development, and ensuring exceptional service delivery while adhering to credit union policies and regulations. The Assistant Branch Manager will work closely with the Branch Manager to implement initiatives that enhance member services and promote a positive branch culture.

  • Assists Branch Manager in developing and implementing strategies to capitalize on opportunities and support member service objectives.
  • Develops and inspires a highly efficient and productive branch team focused on delivering exceptional member service.
  • Ensures all team members are trained on all functions within the branch and new policies and procedures are effectively communicated.
  • Proactively identifies potential issues affecting member service and collaborates on solutions with the Branch Manager.
  • Responds to and monitors branch's Financial Wellbeing Survey feedback, providing coaching and training as necessary.
  • Supports the career development of team members through consistent coaching and professional development.
  • Collaborates with business partners to acquire and expand business relationships.
  • Ensures daily branch operations comply with established credit union policies and legal requirements.
  • Manages team members through changing environments and resolves stressful situations with tact and diplomacy.
  • Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) or AA in business related discipline or equivalent (preferred)
  • Three to four years' prior branch supervisory or team lead experience in a credit union or banking environment
  • Excellent computer skills in MS Windows and MS Office (Word & Excel)
  • Excellent organization and time management skills
  • Demonstrated proficiency in supervising and motivating team members
  • Ability to manage priorities and workflow with flexibility and enthusiasm
  • Strong written and oral communication skills; problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Experience in a credit union or banking environment
  • Knowledge of federal and state banking regulations
