About The Position

Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center at Amarillo, Department of Family and Community Medicine, is seeking a board-certified family physician to join our full-time faculty. We offer required clerkship and elective rotation experiences to third and fourth year medical students, and have a strong, fully accredited family and community medicine residency program. Rank of Assistant Professor/Associate Professor/Professor and applicable salary are dependent upon candidate's qualifications and experience.

Requirements

• Terminal degree of MD, DO or equivalent.
• Eligibility for full unrestricted Texas Medical License, full federal DEA.
• Board certified or Board eligible in Family Medicine.
• State Medical license record showing no disciplinary actions in past 10 years.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, treat and direct care independently for patients in the Texas Tech Family Medicine Clinic
• Obtain and maintain active medical staff admitting attending hospital privileges at BSA for the purpose of serving as the attending physician on the TTFM service at BSA
• Supervise resident physicians, medical students, mid-level providers, and nursing staff in the care of patients in the clinic and, where applicable, BSA
• Present didactic conference sessions for colleagues and the learners identified above on topics as assigned by the department chair or their designee
• Serve as a faculty advisor/mentor to residents or students as assigned by the department chair or their designee
• Complete supporting documentation for patient care encounters and submit charges in a timely manner, as defined by institutional and/or department policies.
