CenterPoint Energy is seeking an Associate Dispatcher to join our Gas Operations Dispatching Team in Evansville, IN. In this role, you will be responsible for monitoring gas emergency and electric meter orders for both company and contract service technicians. You will work closely with various departments, including the Contact Center, Receivables Management, and Field Operations, to ensure efficient and timely scheduling of both emergency and non-emergency meter order work. Your ability to analyze and respond to changes in priority and resources will be crucial, as you will be expected to ensure optimal emergency response times and productive routing and scheduling, operating 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. As an Associate Dispatcher, you will monitor gas and electric meter order work, supporting the oversight of meter order management resources. This includes assisting in the review and revision of technician routes, order distribution, and resource allocation to ensure that work is completed efficiently and within prescribed time frames. You will communicate with Field Operation Technicians and Supervision to provide contingency plans for re-balancing work as required and keep informed of any schedule changes. Additionally, you will manage customer and Vectren generated work orders to maximize productivity, control costs, and ensure compliance with regulatory Minimum Gas Service Standards. Your role will also involve processing incoming customer and emergency agency calls related to potential natural gas emergencies, increasing customer safety and satisfaction by clearly communicating safety precautions and capturing detailed facts for field personnel response. You will evaluate the priority and urgency of gas emergency orders to ensure customer safety and prompt response by field personnel. Furthermore, you will be responsible for third-party damage communications to both internal and external customers, including executive leadership, and will respond urgently to emergency calls such as gas leaks and outages, conveying the urgency to field operations for rapid response. This position may require extended hours due to operational demands, and you will be part of a 24x7x365 rotational schedule that includes working weekends and holidays.
