About The Position

Define and execute product strategy for investment accounting software by leading agile roadmap planning and delivering innovative software solutions that simplify client problems and support regulatory-compliant workflows. Interpret and translate NAIC regulatory requirements into detailed functional specifications and specialized product features that support the full investment accounting lifecycle for U.S. insurance entities. Partner with engineering to design and implement scalable solutions aligned with NAIC statutory accounting principles, statutory reporting, and risk-based capital compliance. Collaborate with engineering teams to define data mapping, validation rules, and transformation logic for fixed income, equity, and derivative instruments for the investment accounting platform. Partner with UX designers and software engineers to conceptualize and deliver intuitive, user-friendly interfaces for investment accounting professionals, iterating user flows and interface designs that align with client workflows. Define and implement the control framework based on knowledge of NAIC STAT reporting, GAAP and other basis to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and consistency of accounting data in reporting layers. Work as product evangelist with the Product Marketing Team to build awareness and understanding of the product to increase product adoption and gather user feedback to inform future product development. Lead the integration and management of security master file data, ensuring accurate ingestion and transformation of financial instrument attributes into the investment accounting platform. Analyze and interpret complex financial data structures to support accurate accounting treatment and reporting within the software. Produce key artifacts, including business and functional requirement documents, user acceptance test plans and test cases. Write user stories and release notes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Management, Accounting, Political Science, or a related field and three (3) years of experience as an Analyst, Business Analyst or a related role in product management or business analysis within the investment accounting, financial services, or insurance technology industry.
  • Must have three (3) years of experience with: Front, middle, and back-office integration touch points in the Financial Services Industry; Product and software development lifecycles including creating product road maps; Integrating usability studies, research, and data analysis into business product requirements; Preparing business requirements documentation (BRD) based on data-driven insights in accordance with regulations and internal policies; Experience using UX prototyping tools including Figma to iterate on user flows, wireframes, and interactive prototypes; Experience with Agile Development Toolchains including Aha!, Azure DevOps, and JIRA; Experience with Structured Query Language (SQL) for Financial Data Extraction and analysis; Experience with Business Intelligence Tools including Power BI and Tableau for Operational and Financial Reporting Dashboards; Defining test plans and scenarios with QA teams and supporting automated regression testing for investment accounting workflows; and Experience working with cloud-based financial data architectures including Snowflake and AWS, and APIs for accounting data ingestion and transformation.
  • Must have two (2) years of experience with: Accounting treatment for investment instruments and impact to financial statements; Accounting system architectures and core components, including integration of security master file data for different asset classes; Investment accounting and performance reporting cycles, operational processes, quality controls and workflows; Experience working with financial platforms that provide Investment Book of Record (IBOR) capabilities, such as Aladdin, SimCorp, or equivalent enterprise systems; and Knowledge of and ability to translate NAIC Statutory Accounting Principles (SAP) and Risk-Based Capital (RBC) Reporting into iterative product improvements for insurance clients, maintaining compliance in rapidly evolving statutory frameworks.
