This version of the job description shifts the focus from general "account closures" to a very specific and critical function within Iron Mountain: Destruction Services Management. In the records management industry, "Destruction" refers to the secure and permanent disposal of sensitive physical or digital assets. This is a high-stakes area because of legal compliance and data privacy regulations. 🛠️ The Core of This Role As a Destruction Process Specialist, you are the gatekeeper of the final stage of the document lifecycle. You aren't just deleting files; you are managing the complex workflow where a customer says, "I want this inventory permanently destroyed," and ensuring it happens legally, accurately, and is billed correctly. Key Functional Areas: The Destruction Workflow: You manage the request from the moment the customer asks for it until the "Certificate of Destruction" is likely issued. This involves checking contracts to see if destruction is allowed and coordinating with the warehouses. Compliance & Risk: Because you are dealing with the permanent removal of assets, 100% accuracy is required. If the wrong box is destroyed, it’s a legal disaster. Billing for Service: Destruction is a billable service. You will handle the Salesforce entries that ensure the customer is charged correctly for the labor, transportation, and disposal of those items. Strategic Improvement: Unlike a basic data entry role, you are expected to look at the global "Destruction" process and suggest ways to make it faster or more accurate across different countries.
