About The Position

At Shangri-La Dispensaries, we are building something bigger than a retail store. We are creating a premium cannabis experience rooted in education, compliance, wellness, and community. Founded in 2019, Shangri-La has grown into a multi-state organization serving both medical and adult-use customers. Our mission is to provide a welcoming, professional, and stigma-free environment where customers feel confident and informed about their purchases. We are looking for Associates who are passionate about customer service, driven by results, and committed to operating with integrity in a highly regulated industry. Position Overview As an Associate, you are the face of the dispensary. You create the first and last impression for every customer who walks through our doors. Your role is to ensure every guest feels welcome, supported, and confident in their purchase while helping the store reach performance goals and maintain strict compliance standards. This position blends customer service, sales performance, product education, and operational accuracy.

Requirements

  • Must meet minimum age requirements per state law
  • Strong customer service skills and a positive attitude
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced retail environment
  • Ability to learn and retain cannabis product knowledge
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 pounds

Responsibilities

  • Greet every customer with a friendly and professional attitude
  • Accurately check and scan IDs to ensure compliance with state regulations and company policies
  • Provide safe, compliant, and professional service at all times
  • Maintain awareness of evolving cannabis regulations and internal procedures
  • Assist customers in selecting products that best meet their needs and preferences
  • Maintain strong knowledge of strains, product categories, effects, and promotions
  • Provide accurate and responsible product recommendations
  • Educate customers in a clear, compliant, and approachable manner
  • Upsell and suggest add-ons when appropriate to enhance the customer experience
  • Enroll customers in loyalty and referral programs
  • Work toward individual performance goals including Average Order Value (AOV), Units per Transaction (UPT), and positive customer reviews
  • Contribute to overall store sales and team performance metrics
  • Keep sales floor shelves stocked, organized, and visually appealing
  • Ensure displays are clean, neat, and aligned with current promotions
  • Support daily inventory accuracy through proper product placement
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment
  • Accurately participate in cycle counts and audits as assigned
  • Complete inventory-related logs and documentation accurately and on time
  • Assist with delivery intakes, including verification of quantities and compliance paperwork
  • Follow all inventory handling procedures to support accurate reporting and regulatory compliance
  • Build trust with customers through a positive and knowledgeable approach
  • Maintain a respectful and professional environment for customers and team members
  • Support a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement
