The Boeing Global Services' team is searching for an Associate Wire Design and Installation Engineer, situated in Long Beach, California, to support the C-17 military cargo aircraft operated around the world. This position requires someone that is self-motivated, takes ownership, and has good communication skills (verbal and written). This position requires someone that is customer focused with the ability to build strong customer relationships.

  • Responsible for managing complex wire harness assembly database including wiring data, parts list, and jig board tool information
  • Responsible for managing accurate wire harness configuration control of constantly evolving electrical system
  • Develop new or upgraded systems for integration for wire harness assemblies
  • Responsible for creating wire harness modification kit drawings for use by Technical Publications organization
  • Support the sustainment, development and documentation of aircraft systems, primarily electrical wiring system design (may include interacting directly with USAF customer, Field Engineers and C-17 aircraft)
  • Work cohesively with Project and Supplier Management, Materials and Processes Engineering while interfacing with component suppliers
  • Perform root cause analysis for field issues, provide corrective actions, and communicate with USAF customer
  • Perform technical review of supplier capabilities to facilitate source selection
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
  • 1+ years of experience in cable/wire harness detail and assembly designs
  • 1+ years of experience using CEEDS, Siemens Capital and/or an equivalent avionics wire design tool
  • 1+ years of engineering experience associated with the development, selection, and/or revision of parts, materials, and processes specifications used to make electrical wiring and associated electrical systems
  • 1+ years of experience working with computer aided design and manufacturing (CAD/CAM) such as CATIA, Solidworks or Siemens NX
  • Experience in military and / or commercial airplane programs
  • Experience drawing release toolset (eg. Team Center/IPDM)
  • Experience working with Suppliers
  • Experience with technical publications for part installation and maintenance of aircraft
