We are seeking an experienced, collaborative, meticulous Associate VP-Assistant General Patent Counsel to join our IP Transactions Team within the Legal department. In this role, you will lead and manage a broad range of corporate transactions and work on cross-functional project teams. You will collaborate with business team members across the organization to ensure that the IP Transactions Team is providing the highest level of service and counsel to bring medicines to patients in need. This role reports to the Vice President - Assistant General Patent Counsel - IP Strategy, Transactions, New Modalities & Oncology. We prefer that this attorney be located in Indianapolis, Indiana, but will consider remote applicants. The principal mission of this role is to coordinate with search and evaluation, business development professionals, and transactions lawyers to provide IP due diligence. Additionally, this role will draft, review, and negotiate scientific and IP related provisions in a variety of agreements, including material transfers, patent licenses, research collaborations, and mergers/acquisitions. This role will advise leadership and senior management in business development, therapeutic business units, and Lilly research labs on IP-related diligence and transactional issues. You will facilitate and coordinate post-execution integration, including working with agreement management systems, alliance management, therapeutic business units, and Lilly research labs as necessary.
