About The Position

The Associate Vision Engineer role at Mikron Automation is ideal for early-career professionals eager to contribute to the development of scalable, high-performance automation platforms. You'll work alongside experienced engineers to develop and refine custom assembly solutions that support life-saving pharmaceutical and medical technologies, as well as the automotive and consumer goods industries.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent.
  • 0+ years of professional experience in machine vision or industrial automation preferred.
  • Familiar with machine vision concepts, lighting, and lens selection.
  • Familiar with basic image processing and inspection principles.
  • Exposure to vision platforms (e.g., Cognex In-Sight, Keyence).
  • Familiar with vision system commissioning and basic tuning.
  • Exposure to programming logic and scripting tools.
  • Familiar with mechanical integration of vision hardware.

Responsibilities

  • Develop foundational understanding of Mikron products, platforms, and engineering standards through training and hands-on experience.
  • Assist in the design and integration of automation components, systems, or software under the guidance of experienced engineers and team leads.
  • Participate in system testing, troubleshooting, and debug activities during development, build, and commissioning phases.
  • Attend internal and customer-facing meetings, design reviews, and acceptance tests to understand requirements and contribute to project success under the direction of project managers.
  • Utilize engineering tools and systems (e.g., CAD, PDM, PLC/HMI software, vision platforms) to support design, documentation, and testing.
  • Create and maintain engineering documentation (e.g., drawings, BOMs, specifications) in accordance with project and company standards.
  • Follow all safety protocols, engineering and industry standards, and company policies in daily work activities.
  • Provide support across project phases including sales and applications, design, build, validation, installation, and post-installation service. Perform additional duties as assigned.
