About The Position

Responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive philanthropy strategy to drive revenue growth and strengthen donor engagement. Oversees annual, planned, and alumni giving; corporate and foundation relations; and donor communications to ensure a unified, donor-focused approach aligned with the College’s mission and fundraising goals. Builds a culture of philanthropy, cultivates key relationships, and directs a high-performing team to expand participation, grow the donor base, and secure major gifts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Eight years of related fundraising experience
  • Experience in higher education or a non-profit organization
  • Knowledge of: Microsoft Office Professional or similar application
  • Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems, fundraising databases, and digital engagement platforms
  • Skilled in: Motivating employees to apply the effort necessary to attain organizational and departmental goals
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills including policy and creative writing, group presentation, and individual coaching and counseling skills
  • Strategic thinking including effective planning, setting goals, monitoring progress, and making appropriate adjustments to plans based on circumstances and context
  • Ability to: Maintain a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality
  • Interact in a positive manner with diverse populations and varying education levels of students, faculty, staff, and the public
  • Effectively communicate verbally and in writing on a regular basis with internal and external customers, build relationships, manage customer expectations, and take responsibility for a high level of service
  • Licenses, Registration, Certifications, or Special Requirements: Regular physical attendance required
  • Valid Florida driver's license
  • Some periods throughout the year will require extended work hours including nights, weekends, and college closures

Responsibilities

  • Integrates fundraising initiatives across digital, direct mail, stewardship, and event channels to ensure coordinated donor engagement.
  • Develops and evaluates metrics to monitor philanthropic performance and drive continuous improvement.
  • Utilizes data and analytics to guide decision-making, track donor behaviors, and strengthen the donor pipeline.
  • Manages a portfolio of leadership‑level donors, overseeing cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship efforts.
  • Leads the strategic development, implementation, and growth of a comprehensive Planned Giving program, including bequests, charitable gift annuities, charitable remainder/unitrusts, beneficiary designations, and complex blended gifts.
  • Advances donor engagement strategies and events to strengthen relationships with individuals, corporations, alumni, foundations, and community partners.
  • Provides leadership, coaching, and professional development to staff.
  • Leads and evaluates the work of direct and indirect reports to ensure effective performance.
  • Establishes short‑ and long‑term goals, priorities, and performance standards for philanthropic initiatives.
  • Fosters a collaborative, inclusive, high-performing team culture that supports innovation, creativity, and results.
  • Builds and executes a data-driven annual giving program that increases donor acquisition, retention, and pipeline development through segmented appeals, digital campaigns, leadership annual gifts, and recurring giving initiatives.
  • Guides corporate and foundation fundraising strategy, including proposal development, partnership cultivation, grant alignment, and stewardship reporting.
  • Ensures compliance with gift acceptance policies, IRS regulations, CASE standards, and College Foundation procedures.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
