About The Position

The Position Pharma Lifecycle Services & External Engagements is a core service portfolio of the Enterprise Services and Solutions (ESS) function, a transformative organization focused on furthering the goals of enterprise efficiency, end-to-end process excellence, and Organon Founder, patient and provider experience. The Associate Vice President – Pharma Lifecycle Services & External Engagements Lead is a leadership role that is pivotal in ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of services bridging technology and process excellence with business strategy, driving innovation and maintaining high standards of compliance. This role is responsible for achieving service levels of current scope and identifying existing or building new Services that can be optimized through transformation/automation in ESS and driving continuous improvement initiatives. This role is also responsible for ensuring the successful operational execution of Functional strategies, including but not limited to managing Designation Point of Contact (DPOC) as per Service Level Agreements (SLAs) with R&D and Organon Manufacturing and Supply (OMS), process optimization, resource allocation, and KPI tracking to support business growth. In External Engagements, this role oversees the successful operational execution of Healthcare Professional (HCP) engagements for R&D, Commercial and Global Communications and cost-effective internal/external HCP fee-for-service meetings (and congress) planning and execution across the organization. This role reports into the Head of Enterprise Services & Solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare, Life Sciences, or related field.
  • MBA or equivalent experience with emphasis in Operations, Finance, or Strategy.
  • Fifteen plus years of progressive experience in pharmaceutical R&D and/or Commercial operations, including shared services, regulated operations, or enterprise service environments.
  • Demonstrated success operating at senior leadership level, partnering with executive stakeholders and leading large, complex, cross‑functional organizations.
  • Strong understanding of drug development lifecycle and compliant HCP engagement models.
  • Proven ability to lead enterprise transformation, manage ambiguity, and deliver measurable outcomes through influence.

Nice To Haves

  • Operations and execution experience across drug development, regulatory affairs, medical affairs, and/or pharmacovigilance is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Planning and Vision: Enhance efficiency through centralizing operations and foster strategic partnerships to deliver cost savings to achieve year over year (YOY) cost reductions of 5% to 8% of responsible service lines.
  • Drive new value creation through the implementation of end-to-end shared services aligning with functional requirements and goals.
  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies, implementing best practices for the organization to improve Founder Experience
  • Operational Oversight: Collaborate with business leaders to understand key Functional strategies (e.g., R&D, OMS, Commercial) and translate them into operational solutions.
  • Portfolio ownership of DPOC services, HCP fee-for-service engagements, including service delivery, project management, and maintenance.
  • Ensure effective processes and workflows that support both internal customer and external HCP and patience experience.
  • Technology Implementation: Strategize the integration of new and innovative technologies and automation that enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Stay updated with emerging technologies and ensure their optimal use.
  • Integrate Service Now (SNOW) and leverage data analytics to optimize Founder / HCP / patient experience and provide valued business insights back to Organon Functions.
  • Service Excellence: In partnership with Organon Quality, Audit, and Compliance ensure high levels of quality and reliability, maintaining all cGxP requirements for the enterprise.
  • Foster a “Founder Experience” mindset to deliver services and solutions.
  • Develop and manage business continuity plans to ensure uninterrupted services and support.
  • Governance and Compliance: Implement robust governance practices to protect business interests, mitigate risks, and monitor implementation of standard requirements and performance, in alignment with leadership and Organon Quality, Audit and Compliance functions, consistent with standards, regulatory and statutory requirements.
  • Organization Development: Foster an environment that promotes growth.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of professionals.
  • Build talent pipeline & succession bench strength.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Leads through influence that positively improves Founder Experience using problem solving, transparency, and proactive communication skills.
  • Develop and maintain close relationships with leaders and COEs and across Functional leadership teams that collaborate with the DPOC program and engage with HCPs.
  • Establish clear Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and matrix of responsibilities on the operations of Services, HCP engagements and meeting planning/execution.
  • Budget Management - Manage the functional budget and ensure financial performance against targets.
  • Performance Management: Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and SLAs for Services and ensure continuous improvement.
  • Track metrics related to process performance, quality, timeliness, and cost aligned with industry benchmarks.
  • Change Management: Adopt high quality change practices with customers and stakeholders, building and implementing an organization which is sustainable.
  • Be a leader by example and practice, embodying the company leadership standards and values.
  • Lead and manage change initiatives, including process changes and technology implementations.
