About The Position

The Ares Secondaries team specializes in secondary market transactions of private equity, real estate, credit, and infrastructure investments with AUM of approximately $42 billion as of December 31, 2025. The team is currently looking to hire an Associate Vice President – Manager, Portfolio Analytics in our NY location to join our dynamic Finance team of approximately 60 professionals located across our West Hartford, CT, Boston, MA and New York, NY locations. The AVP will engage with key team members, including PE Secondaries Deal Team, Portfolio Management, Capital Markets, Legal, Compliance, Accounting, and Investor Relations. The ideal candidate will possess investment analysis, accounting, or private equity / fund of funds experience with an understanding of fund reporting, basic partnership accounting, and performance metrics. This role will require a dynamic, adaptive, and agile hands-on professional who enjoys a fast-paced, rapidly growing environment.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a B.S. degree in Finance, Economics, or Accounting
  • 7+ years of related financial experience is required, which may include public accounting
  • Solid management team skills including staff development
  • Strong relationship building skills with internal business clients
  • Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Office, eFront Software is a plus
  • Dependable, great attitude, highly motivated and a team player
  • High accuracy and detail oriented

Nice To Haves

  • MBA, CFA, or CPA is a plus
  • 2+ years of experience working at a Private Fund or Secondaries firm strongly desired
  • eFront Software is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and develop analysts and associates, while providing ongoing training and feedback
  • Work with investment professionals to assist in deal closings and allocations across funds, as well as support ongoing portfolio construction
  • Perform detailed review of quarterly investment report valuations, including diversification metrics as well as valuation gains and losses
  • Prepare or review documentation for quarterly investor reports, as well as performance returns at a portfolio and fund level (TWR, IRR, Multiples, etc.)
  • Coordinate investment amendments/consents with investment professionals
  • Participate on investment update calls and prepare/review memo summary
  • Review data utilized by Investor Relations as part of investor presentations and fundraising efforts
