About The Position

The Associate Vice President provides leadership for Human Resources Operations, building the crosswalk between operational excellence for the College of Southern Nevada. Provides oversight for HR operations to include Talent Acquisition & Classification, Salary Administration & Records and Benefits. The Associate Vice President partners with college leadership faculty, professional staff, and classified staff to ensure the college is in compliance with policy and procedure while ensuring delivery of the highest level of service to internal and external stakeholders. The Associate Vice President serves as 'second in command' for CSN HR and works closely with the Chief Human Resources Officer to set the strategic vision for HR and then aligning that strategy with the mission, vision, values, and business of the college. The Associate Vice President manages and analyzes data to make recommendations to the Chief Human Resources Officer and CSN leadership to assist in their strategic decision-making. Overseeing, supervising, and supporting day-to-day operations of the Talent Acquisition & Classification, Salary Administration & Records and Benefits teams. Works closely with the CHRO on improvement initiatives aimed at transforming the department's culture to be data informed and focused on continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in human resources or a related field from a regionally accredited college/university or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 4-5 years' experience in HR.
  • 2-3 years of supervisory experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional HR Certification.
  • Experience in a community college or post-secondary institution.
  • Experience leading in a unionized environment.
  • Experience working in an NSHE institution.
