The Associate Vice President for Capabilities is a senior leadership role within the Enterprise for Research, Innovation and Knowledge (ERIK) administrative structure, charged with advancing institutional effectiveness through the strategic development, integration, and optimization of organizational capabilities. This role holds decision-making authority to shape and implement ERIK-wide strategies that ensure the university has the right processes, technologies, and talent to support research and innovation priorities. This role provides vision and direction for capability-building initiatives, aligning them with the university’s strategic plan and long-term goals. The position leads cross-functional collaboration across academic and administrative units, driving transformation through robust frameworks that integrate people, processes, and technology. Acting as a trusted advisor to executive leadership, the AVP influences resource allocation, operational priorities, and policy development to maintain Ohio State’s competitive edge in a rapidly evolving academic and research landscape.
