About The Position
As the Associate Vice President of Communications at Verizon, you will play a pivotal role in leading the communications strategy for the Verizon Business Group, a significant segment of the company generating $30 billion in revenue. This position is not just about managing communications; it’s about crafting and executing a comprehensive strategy that aligns with the company’s priorities and business goals. You will oversee a team dedicated to showcasing how Verizon serves more businesses than any competitor, highlighting the innovative solutions we provide to our customers daily. Your leadership will extend to managing media relations, employee engagement, thought leadership, and reputation management on a global scale. In this senior role, you will also be actively involved in crisis and issues communications, providing strategic counsel to executives and ensuring a consistent leadership message both internally and externally. You will be responsible for developing and executing communication strategies that leverage earned media and owned content, proactively identifying opportunities for positive media coverage while managing crisis communications when necessary. Building and maintaining strong relationships with key media outlets, journalists, and influencers in the technology sector will be crucial to your success. Your role will require you to engage stakeholders in innovative ways, utilizing data-driven approaches and new tools, including AI, to optimize outreach. You will lead a high-performing communications team, fostering a culture of trust and excellence, while working cross-functionally to meet the needs of various stakeholders, including investors, customers, employees, and partners.
