About The Position
The Associate Vice Chancellor-Technology and Business Sector Strategy at City Colleges of Chicago (CCC) plays a pivotal role in leading and directing the district-wide strategic plan aimed at enhancing academic offerings and workforce readiness in the fields of Information Technology (IT) and business. Reporting to the Deputy Provost, this position is tasked with the dual objectives of establishing CCC as the premier provider of IT and business education while effectively preparing students for successful careers in Chicago's expanding IT and business sectors. The AVC will collaborate closely with CCC leadership, industry partners, and other stakeholders to implement strategies that deliver exceptional academic experiences and workforce training opportunities for students enrolled in both credit and non-credit programs. The AVC is responsible for developing and strengthening partnerships with industry leaders and community stakeholders to secure resources, workforce training, apprenticeships, and employment opportunities for students. This role requires a forward-thinking strategist who is deeply engaged in the technology and business ecosystem, capable of representing CCC on both local and national platforms. The AVC will focus on addressing systemic barriers to economic mobility for diverse talent within the CCC student body, ensuring that programs are accessible and equitable. Key responsibilities include collaborating with college Deans and faculty to enhance existing programs and develop new academic offerings, implementing strategic marketing and recruitment plans to boost enrollment, and ensuring that students have access to necessary support services. The AVC will also identify emerging trends in the IT and business sectors to create relevant curricular and training opportunities, thereby fostering a skilled workforce that meets industry demands.
